General Accountant

Your mission
Job Responsibility:
• Preparing statutory accounts in accordance with IFRS and managing end to end periodic financial reporting with proper financial statements. 
• Ensuring the integrity of Finance Systems and chart of accounts through constant review & updates 
• Preparing timely month-end balance sheet reconciliations and submit the Trial Balance reconciliation checklists to Group VP Finance every month.
 • Performing variance analysis in line with prepared account reconciliations
 • Ensuring smooth finance transactions processing, performing checks for accuracy, and posting of journal entries on a timely basis
 • Verifying, posting, and reconciling all accounts payables and receivables. 
• Verifying and posting all monthly General ledger accounting transactions including accruals and provide error-free accounting reports every month end.
 • Ensuring all fixed assets of the company are tagged and accounted for accurately, while monitoring disposals. 
• Recommending enhancements to accounting systems and procedures. 
• Assisting in setting financial standards setting and in forecast and budgeting processes 
• Ensuring cost control at all levels of the organization • Preparation and Monitoring of financial Strategic Business Plan and building Periodic Forecasts
 • Ensuring compliance with IFRS at different transaction levels
 • Leading departments financial Statutory audits and preparation of accounts for audit purposes
• Managing the purchasing cycle by ensuring purchase orders are provided to suppliers and ensuring payments to suppliers as per purchase orders.
 • Communicate the value of strategic sourcing and procurement to company stakeholders, department heads, and executives to the achieve buy-in necessary for proper resources and investment. 
• Working with stakeholders to establish viable, cost effective, and strategic sourcing objectives. 
• Leading the Evaluation, selection and, and successfully adherence to comprehensive procurement processes
 • Enforcing procurement policies and procedures. 
• Monitoring supplier contracts to ensure that the suppliers meet expectations and invoices are approved and paid in a timely manner. 
• Proposing to legal team any required adjustments or changes to existing contracts 
• Keeping track of all goods and services ordered and received, and maintain accurate inventory records including details on price, performance, and delivery.
 • Tracking delivery times, and report any issues with product or delivery 
• Handling Customs queries at importation for companies MEP Imports.
• Handling all Tax Concerns with the local tax authority (body) and initiating compliance to different recent Tax Laws.
 • Computing and filing statutory tax returns. 
• Monitoring and adjusting journals for all ERP tax and Levies GL accounts and reconciliation back to source Tax submissions for both indirect and direct taxes.
 • Mapping Tax classifications to fixed assets from budgeting phase to capitalization phase for proper Capital Allowances allocation. 
• Management of Tax Asset register in company systems.
 • Reviewing deferred Tax provisions and tracking all related Timing differences. 
• Estimating and tracking tax returns • Completing regular (quarterly and annual) tax reports. 
• Organizing and updating the company’s tax database 
• Recommending tax strategies that align with business goals. 
• Preparing necessary paperwork for tax payments and returns. 
• Identifying tax savings and suggesting ways to increase profits.
 • Following industry trends and tracking changes related to taxes. 
• Liaising with local tax authority auditors and responding to all their queries for any audits that may come up. 
• Managing company’s exemptions and ensuring renewal of the same from Ministry of Finance and the local tax authority.
• Managing the revenue cycle by ensuring customers are invoiced monthly and accurately and all receipts are collected on time. 
• Identification and mitigation of gaps across revenue processes, with an objective to effectively manage inherent revenue related risk to an acceptable level and provide assurance of minimal (opportunity of) revenue leakage.
 • Verification & validation of end-to-end revenue (transaction) cycle completeness, accuracy, system integrity and reporting, as initiated from sales activity, through to accounts receivable.
 • Facilitate positive change to revenue control systems, processes, and revenue management by consistently addressing revenue cycle process deficiencies (from sales, contract management, rate management, billing to accounts receivable, including confirmation of general ledger integrity).
Following-up on financial control issues raised in various audits and inspections and ensuring that agreed action items are implemented on a timely basis.
• Monitoring and managing the organization’s bank relationships and liquidity management 
• Managing foreign currency exposure and foreign currency payments 
• Handling daily Bank and Cash reserves and Accounts payables 
• Advising hedging solutions as part of risk management for entire entity operations
 • Supporting the month end process by ensuring timely Bank reconciliations 
• Supporting Debt financing to a required extent by Raxio Group
 • Managing shareholder’s loan, keeping track of any loan advances and computation of related accrued interest schedules.
Your profile
Education 
❖ BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant. ❖ Working towards a relevant certification (e.g., ACCA or CPA) will be a plus. .

Experience 
❖ Proven experience as a general accountant or in a similar role. ❖ Adequate knowledge of basic accounting procedures. ❖ Adequate understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS); ❖ Ability to learn and understand business trends. ❖ Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close process. ❖ Monthly reporting in line with group policies. ❖ Hands-on experience with a well-known accounting software package, preferably Microsoft Dynamics. ❖ Experience working with an international group. ❖ Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
