Your mission
The Facilities Engineer is responsible for the physical facilities conditions, designing, developing, and maintaining electrical systems and/or components to required specifications, focusing on safety, reliability, quality and sustainability. Some of the tasks that fall under the day-to-day scope of works include;
- Complying with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
- Repairing and performing preventive maintenance on CRAHs, AHUs, Chillers, Pumps, Cooling Towers, Plumbing, and Insulation.
- Overseeing and inspecting the work performed by outside contractors. Contracted work includes maintenance on electrical systems, mechanical systems and other facilities related systems.
- Performing assigned repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance.
- Completing maintenance and repair records as required.
- Troubleshooting complex electrical, mechanical, and controlling systems and equipment.
- Supervising external vendors to ensure the regulations and operational procedures are followed.
- Reviewing and updating complex mechanical and electrical drawings
- Responding promptly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.
- Comparing electrical data centre networks to regulations and standards
- Choosing materials and equipment for the electrical infrastructure
- Overseeing and preparing the roll-out of new electrical installations
- Advising and supporting at electrical changes, adjustments and extensions
- Controlling failure analysis and support testing.
- Applying best practices and new technologies
- Maintaining security systems through the entire data centre life cycle
- Comparing data centre security systems to regulation and (compliancy)standards
- Overseeing and preparing the roll-out of new security systems installations
- Monitoring fire, emergency and safety plans continuous into account the safety and effects on people.
